This workshop will analyze some of the main principles of education for the future and work from real life classroom situations and materials provided by the participants to develop strategies and specific actions that can be implemented in their schools now. Topics include:
- Critical thinking and 21st Century Skills
- Student choice and voice
- The Makers' School
- Big Data
This highly interactive, tech-enriched workshop will itself be utilizing some of the suggested tools and strategies so it can serve as its own case study and help participants reflect upon their own firsthand experience in learning in the School of the Future.
Buffet style lunch will be provided and an informal 'unconferencing' discussion group will meet directly after the event in the hotel lounge.
Participants will be required to:
- Bring an Internet-connected device.
- Submit a sample unit planner so that Gabriel can tailor the workshop specifically to participants' needs and assess how technology is integrated in current planning materials.
- Carry their passport with them at all times.
